CSA stands for Community Supported Agriculture. Community Supported Agriculture is a model of local agriculture whereby farmers and families commit to a growing vegetables and purchasing boxes of produce relationship. With this arrangement, farmers have a ready market for the local foods they produce. And families know who is growing their fresh local vegetables and have a direct connection to the land that provides their nourishment.
The particulars of each CSA are unique. Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA has never asked for total payment in advance. However, we do expect members to purchase each of their boxes May through November or December as our farm shares are our source of farm income. Our CSA Members pay only for the boxes we are able to provide. We value this direct marketing business model and we will provide vegetable boxes which are worthy of this arrangement. Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA members are not required to work on our Buncombe County farm. Our CSA Boxes are prepared five days a week. Your CSA Box is filled with a variety of whichever fresh local vegetables are ready for harvest on that particular day. Vegetables grown on our family farm are hand picked and delivered within hours; thus providing the freshest local foods and the highest nutritional value possible.
We are not certified organic, but we use organic inputs and always attempt to do our farming in an organic and sustainable manner. Members may choose from a weekly or an every-other-week csa farm share farm share box of fresh local vegetables. We offer convenient pickup locations for farm shares in Asheville, Biltmore, Fairview, Arden and Fletcher. Home and business delivery options are available in some areas of Buncombe County from North Asheville south to Biltmore Town Square and in areas east of Asheville.
To join Cane Creek Asparagus & Company CSA, fill out the Farm Share Commitment form and click “Submit.” We will acknowledge receipt of your information as soon as possible with a Welcoming Email so you know you are a member of the original Cane Creek CSA for the harvest season!
